Hi there, my name is Bean.    I’m about two or three years old now and I’m a female cat with black fur.    To be honest, I can’t really remember ever having had a real home or a family.    I spent the last year or two on the streets by myself – pretty scary for a young kitty!    I’m pretty sure I only survived because at some point a kind lady started leaving food out for me to eat.    Unfortunately, she didn’t have room in her family to take me in, but I was pretty touched that someone was trying to help me at all.   

 

When winter came she even tried giving me a small cat house in the yard to sleep in so I wouldn’t freeze, but these big, scary raccoons ripped it up and there I was cold all over again.    After that, she did me the biggest favor of all and brought me here to Feline Rescue where I could search for my first and hopefully last home!

 

I’m a quiet cat, though I find a little spunkiness in me when I feel safe.    I’m starting to learn from the volunteers here just how wonderful it can be to have someone there to sit with you while you sleep, petting your head, or even carrying you around.    It isn’t easy to let my guard down though, so please be patient with me.   

 

I’m still figuring out that fingers coming towards me aren’t going to hurt me so I might hiss a little at first – I promise I don’t mean any offense and if you just slowly reach out, I’ll relax once you actually pet me.  

 

  I’m a quick study, and I’m pretty sure I’ll get past even that fear soon if it means meeting someone who’d take me home with them to love!    I’m ready to put my rough past behind me and look forward to the future.    I hope you’ll come visit with me and see if that future could be with you.
