Professor and Buttercup are playful, bonded brothers. They love chasing wand toys and laser lights (for hours, if you’re up for it!)...they are very active young boys! Professor has a strong affinity for catnip, while Buttercup prefers a clear head whilst engaging in his feline shenanigans. Professor and Buttercup bring each other tremendous comfort, which is why they need to be adopted as a pair, but in spite of their closeness they’re eager to make new kitty friends! Buttercup is always the first to say “hello” to fellow felines, and while Professor initially postures with a hiss or two it doesn’t take him long before he’s curled up in a cuddle puddle with his new buddies. As playful and young as they are they’re equally sweet and gentle, and both continue working very hard at trusting people.

Though they lived indoors in a home, neither became well acclimated to humans during the first 9 months of their lives. Professor and Buttercup came to their foster home in December pretty petrified of people...they've truly blossomed since! Time and patience has earned a lot of trust. Professor and Buttercup (and their 3-legged fellow foster, Balsam!) come clamoring to their foster’s feet at mealtime. They eat eagerly in her company, and all enjoy their mealtime petting. 

 

Professor has progressed from initially jumping into the air when touched, to merely tolerating human touch, to melting into head scratches with giant, rumbling purrs! More recently, when he sees his foster he flops onto his side in anticipation of petting! He even prioritizes being pet over his meals many days! He's a ham! 

 

He and Buttercup both are ready for more than just foster care: They need a home to belong to so they can learn the true meaning of family. Their transition to a new place will take a little time and patience, but these fellas will bring such life, joy, and companionship to their new family!
