Remember that poem? “The fog creeps in on little cat feet. It sits on silent haunches, Looking over harbor and city, And then moves on.” Carl Sandberg, I think. I’m quite a literate young woman. Well, anyway, I have little cat feet – little white cat feet – and I could creep silently if I wanted. I have little white cat feet on a little brown tabby cat self. I am not fog. I am called January because I’m looking for a new beginning in my still young life – and you just might be the beginning!
I do sit on my haunches. I like that word – haunches. Has a nice cat ring to it – sort of like rings on a tail. Ha! True, my haunches are silent – but I’m not. I’m doing my best to carry on a literate, charming, enticing conversation with you, “Mee? Meoo? Mrrew! Meeah!” Well, well, looks like I have you talking back. Oh, good!
January has fine tabby fur and a fine tabby mind. She is alert, clever, amusing, curious. She is crafty. She wants to do some exploring. She knows to snuggle up on your shoulder and look around. Now! Now, she uses her fine haunches, not to sit, but to leap into the room. “Oh, oh, meoo – I’ve leaped awfully closer to someone large and orange!” I sniff. He does not hiss. Oh, good! Perhaps he would hunt with me? Or not.
January finds people fascinating. She wants people in her life. She likes people who snuggy her and say, “Aren’t you sweet, you smart little girl!” “I could get so used to this, oh, yes I could. Tell me I’m cute!”
“You’re cute, January, you’re cute….” I think January wants to learn about toys. “Yes, yes, I do. I pretty much lived in rural nowhere, way up north, We didn’t have toys. We had prey, but I don’t suppose you want to hear….These are toys? I can chase them just like prey? How fun! Toss me a few – I’m smart – I’ll get this down quickety-split!”
I am January. I have little cat feet – little white cat feet. I can sit on silent haunches. (I like that word!) I can run and leap. I can move on, too. Most of all, I can love, amuse, snuggle, and play with people. Be my people! Be my good, forever people. Just $120 for my little cat feet – and – my whole tabby cat self!
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
