Guru Looking for a Home

“Well, now – you all know what they say about the boll weevil, right? ‘Well he come all the way to Texas, He was lookin for a place to stay, Just lookin' for a home, He was lookin' for a home. He was lookin' for a home, Lookin' for a home. He was lookin' for a home, Well, lookin' for a home.’

So, I’m not a boll weevil. No, I’m not. I’m an Experienced Cat. A Cat. But I am lookin’ for a home, a place to stay. And I am hopin’ you’ve got me one.  I am Griffin because I’m stately and proud and look good on a coat of arms. Griffin also looks good on a Scottish battle flag.  Look at my carefully designed white and tabby outfit. Look carefully. I have wings just as a good mythical beast should. Makes sense to me. Hope it does to you.

For such an Experienced Guy, you think I’d be older. But I’m not. Only about two years old. I know I could have been a guru – got myself a mountaintop, sat up there, dispensed great wisdom to to seekers of all species. Might have made big bucks. Could have. But I’d rather be A Cat. How about Your Cat? Simpler, easier, warmer, my kind of place – Your Place. So  I’m lookin’ for a place to stay.

I’m kind and quiet and would like it very much if you would rub my big Cat Head and say, “Awwww!....) I would like it, too, if you would offer me a lap to sit in. A long time ago, I think I had one, but it’s been so long. I miss laps. I also love – and I mean I love – this Catnip Banana. See what it says? “Yeoww!” No better thing in my world than this Banana. I chew it. I wash it. I roll on it. I love it. It loves me. But not as much as you’ll love me. So I dream. I dream of a home.

Did I tell you that my name is Griffin? That I’m lookin’ for a home - where I can be the only feline king? That I’m not a boll weevil? That I’m kind and quiet but love to play? That I have wings? I think you’re my person! I do. I do. I’ll be your Cat. Your Guru. Your Dude. How about it? $120 for Feline Rescue – the folks here have been feeding me. And, if I’m really lucky, another Catnip Banana for me? Oh, me!
