“Think licorice Jelly Bean, please. I’m a young black fellow, playful, upbeat, and very goodhearted. I’ll tell you right away that I can’t see you. If you can see me, you probably know I can’t see you back. I’m told I was born into tough circumstances, and my eyes just didn’t turn out right. So, here I am, as black as a Jelly Bean should be.” “So, I don’t see you, but I hear you, I sniff you, and I feel you when you pet me – which is something I like very much. I’m cheerful and just love to rub up against you. I’ve been through a lot in my year-long life, but the people at Feline Rescue have nurtured and nursed me. I’m now a healthy fellow. I just can’t see – and – sometimes, I snort. That’s how I know I’m still here. I hear myself snort!” “I do very well with other cats. The two women here in my suite, Princess Leah and Concho, see for me. They sit with me, and I wash Concho’s head. She likes it! I do very well with people. I purr when I know someone is giving me love. I purr to give love back. I sit in laps.” “I don’t jump up or down. Those of us who can’t see have no idea what we might land upon, so we don’t take chances. But I will chase and play with anything I can hear. Does it rattle? Does it jingle? Does it crinkle? Does it sail past me on a stick? Jelly Bean hears it. Jelly Bean chases it and gives it well-aimed swats across the room.” “I’m soft, and people tell me I’m a shiny, sleek black fellow. I might be handsome, maybe an ugly kitten who grew up to be a prince of a cat. I also hear that I have a secret patch of white fur. But you’ve got to love on me and play with me to see it. Here I am, waiting for you – the perfect black cat who’ll rub your legs and purr while you’re in the kitchen – but who won’t jump up on the counter and steal the lamb chops. Do come over to Feline Rescue and take me home - $120 to cover all that nursing and nurturing – that’s it – and we’re a team!” If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my secretary at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back. |
