Good Heart, Hard Life
About Tuffy | |

“Hi! We’re good-hearted, nice girls – sisters, we think – and we’d very much like to grow up to be complete cats. When we first arrived, we were too shy for either of us to just step right up in front and start performing. Not anymore! Attention - yes! Charm - plenty! I’m Tuffy, and I’m a small orange tabby – very tabby, very orange. And I am Wizard, and I am very, very black with alert and watchful yellow eyes.”
“We won’t pussy-foot around – even though, between us, we’ve got eight feet with which to do so. If we were people, you’d say, ‘Those nice little girls came from the wrong side of the tracks….” We’re not sure what that means – looks like we’re north of the tracks right now – but, yes, we’re not even a year old, and, until we got to Feline Rescue, we were having a hard, hard life. Somebody finally dumped us here, along with a bunch of other scruffy young ones. Honestly, Dolly Parton should do a song about us.”
"We quickly acquired some great mentors at Feline Rescue. There was Henry Schultz - such dreamy eyes, and now we have Mufasa, an orange scamp. They played Henry Higgins to our Eliza Doolittles, and now we are pure charm and fun. Tuffy just loves laps - and she can purr. Wizard will amuse you while Tuffy loves you up. Such good mentors - our guys!
“We think our mom cat wasn’t very healthy. Tuffy now has the FIV, which means she’s fine and healthy but really has to watch her immune system – and eat well – which we weren’t able to do before. Wizard says she tilts her head to one side because someone at Hogwart’s goofed up a spell casting. Tuffy says, ‘We never got to Hogwart’s, and my sis just has a crooked neck.’”
“We’re just about as good-hearted as two young women from the south side of the tracks and the back side of the holler could be. We’d like nothing more than a warm, safe, loving home where we could sit in a cozy window and sleep in a big, real cat bed – even, maybe, on a people bed. Wow – wouldn’t that be something!”
"We're giving people another chance. If you’re warm and loving, we’d like to know. You don’t have to be Dolly Parton to adopt us – although we wouldn’t mind if she did. All you need is your own good heart and $235. We suppose you could adopt just one of us if that's your wish, but, frankly, we'd both feel better with each other.”
PS: If you'd like to know more about us, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet us or leave a message for our secretary at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back.
