Simple, Self-Contained, Down to Earth

“Hi, there! I’m handsome, but I’m not fancy. I was born on a farm, and I am still down to earth. I don’t put on airs, but I do stretch out long and lean so that you can see my fine stripes. Yes, they are rather like overall stripes, agreed. Somewhere around here, I have a red bandana for my pocket – if I had a pocket – which I don’t.”

“You know, you look like a down to earth sort of person to me, someone who might like to sit down, have a cup of coffee, chat about how the crops are coming along. I like to just muse about threshers and tractors and such. Sit at your feet, maybe drape myself over your arm, toss out a few remarks, like ‘Well, what you think? Look like rain, you think?’ What I'm hoping, of course, is that you'll pet me; sure, maybe buy a tractor, but, mostly, I just love people who pet me and talk to me. I just start purring and purring, and I can't stop. Step right over and listen!”

“The simple, satisfied life – that’s what I’m looking for. I’d like to take a nap with my people after doing some hard work. Sit down for supper at my own cheery food bowl, walk around your kitchen a bit to digest my food, get petted, purr for a while, then settle down for another nap. No, of course I’m not related to Don Shelby. Frankly, I don’t have that much ego. I just have Cat. Simple, self-contained handsome grey tabby Cat. That’s it. Seeking my home and my people.
