Wonder if he’d have written me a novel if I’d said yes?”

“I like people a lot. I like attention, love, and amusement. I’ve lived with people on and off ever since I was rescued, with my mom and siblings, from animal control. I guess they thought a whole family full of opinionated cats couldn’t be out just walking around. So I’m here now, and I’m looking for people who will love and cherish my Art Deco self from now until forever. Are you my people?”

“I come with my own special blankies – long story – but they make me feel good. I keep hearing people say that Dainty likes her boxes. I need to tell the truth. I do like to sit in boxes, but it’s not the boxes that fascinate me. It’s the labels – specifically the bar codes. I love bar codes – they’re symmetrical – and also black and white like me. When I look outside of my box, I try to read the bar codes. I hope they wil tell me my future, where I’m going, and where my secret, special people are.”
