“Good afternoon. I am Aberdeen, and I’m happy that you stopped to see me. I’m a mellow, loving guy, butterscotch color, which might be how I ended up named for a city in Scotland – and also in South Dakota. I probably have a clan plaid somewhere, but I can’t find it – just a blue blankie with elephants on it. Elephants??”
“I had my very own person, but my person couldn’t keep me any more. We both felt sad, but what happens, happens. So here I am, looking for my new people and hoping you might be them. I’m sweet and kind. I’m also a bit nervous about this. This is like an audition. Here I am on stage, performing with my whole self in the hope of winning the role. What role? The role of Your Main Cat, of course. Makes me nervous, being watched and judged. Putting on my game face!”
“Aberdeen is a sturdy middle-aged guy. Not quite old enough for a mid-life crisis, but I don’t mind if you have one. I’m gentle, laidback, and I roll with punches – but please don’t punch me! You could brush me if you’d like. I would like. I will sit quietly and think profound thoughts and study everything and everybody that walks by. Sometimes, I think about fresh tuna; sometimes, I think about the size of the universe.”
“Do you suppose I might go home with you? Do you have a blankie for me that doesn’t have elephants on it? Maybe one even in my clan plaid? Um, no, I don’t know what color it is – but it’s not elephant color. It’s plaid. And I am sweet and kind and mellow. My tail is quivering about this audition. If you have, please, $120, please give it to this fine adopter person, fill out her papers, and take me home. My tail will stop quivering, and I’ll purr. I will.”
If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my human assistant at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back.
