“Hi, hi, hi, and hello! The name is Dallas – I suppose because I’m like the city – rather large and sprawling. Guess what. I had a human for several years; it was really nice to have a human. Then my human moved away.......without me! I thought we were family....Worse, the human left me at some place where the other cats told me that, if you’re not young, cute, svelte and perfectly healthy, well, they toss you in the tumbrel and….”
“Fortunately, someone read my chip – and, here I am again, at Feline Rescue after eight years. The volunteers welcomed me back with open arms; they remembered me! I am so lucky to have a back-up option for a secondary home. Truth: I’m not young and svelte and I do test positive for FIV – which I also did eight years ago. But I am still cute – at least, I think so – and, for sure, I am just as lovey and sweety and charming as a guy can be.”
“Dallas, The Man! Dallas, The Guy! Dallas, The Total Sweetheart! Yes, I could do with a personal trainer. Do you have a couple of flights of stairs – and a young, zippy cat who also tests positive for FIV? She could be my personal trainer. Up the stairs, down the stairs. Dallas will soon be in perfect offensive lineman shape – and still totally huggable. Or, perhaps, you’re a wheelchair athlete – need someone to follow your chair and keep you moving? Dallas loves to follow people, wheeled or not.”
“Now I am a few years wiser, and I’m going home only with someone who is, for sure, my forever and ever. Pet me, and I purr and purr and purr. Pet me, and I look at you with loving eyes. Hug me, and I’m in heaven. How about just $120 for a serious bundle of love? Me!”
