“Hello! I am soft and gold and royal. I am King Tut! I know what to do – I smile to you, and I purr. Am I hoping you will pet me? Of course! Please do! I am orange – and white – and fluffy. I’m gentle and mellow and about a year old. Those are the facts. And the fact that I have quite handsome feet. Nice feet, good feet, admirable feet, with pleasing tufts between my toes. I hear that there are people who just love cat feet. So here I am with the finest of feet. And I’m smiling and purring!”

“I’d like my own house and people, please. I am happy that Feline Rescue accepted my application to stay here until you come for me, but I really could do without all these other cats. That grey and white dude snores, and the black one thinks he’s a bat and sails around the room. I know they are my brothers-in-fur, but I don’t want to live with them. Just with you – my people – in our own place.”

“True, I was named for an old – really old – Egyptian king. But I’m not Egyptian – nor am I old. What I do know about Egyptians, though, is that they worshipped cats, believed cats were special, and had subtle powers. You know what? The Egyptians were right, so I am proud to be named for one of their kings. I hear his full name was Tutankhamun and that there were cat images found in his tomb. I’m proud of that, too.”

“I’m not so proud of the fact that animal control arrested me. Imagine that! A royal fellow under arrest for the crime of walking around with tufted feet. It’s just not right! Come sit with me, and hear me purr. Pet my silky royal and golden fur. Offer me a permanent place in your life. I am King Tut, and I am loving and mellow – and not fond of my feline brothers and sisters. I want to be alone with my people, the better for you to appreciate me full-time! How about $120 – and a great life for both of us?”

If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my human assistant at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back.
