“Hi! I’m a tiny tabby girl, and I came all the way from Iowa just to find you – my people. Have you always said, ‘We’d love to share our home with a cat, but our place is so small. There’s hardly room for a cat. Maybe we should just get a gerbil.’ My people, you don’t want a gerbil. All they can do is run in wheels and kick sawdust. You want me – Hudson – a sweet, small girl cat – hardly bigger than a gerbil – but so much more fun.”
“I snuggle. I play. I’d likely curl up in your lap – and I won’t do in your lap what a gerbil would do. You know what. I’m spritely – like a sprite – small, light, feathery being of good luck and good spirit. Somewhere I may even have a magic wand. For now, I just have this orange feather toy, and I do like it – a lot. Whee! I shall jump! Talk to me, pet me, I might squeak with joy. I might purr, too.”
“See, back in Iowa where I had no home, I did have a blog. I blogged every day about the birds I saw flying all about, sitting in trees. Red birds, black birds, all sorts of birds. So when I saw this orange feather toy, I thought it was a bird, and I blogged about it. One of my followers commented, ‘Hudson, that’s not a bird – that’s a cat toy. Play with it. You can even chew on it, and nobody will mind.’ You know what, I think I will! Whee!”
I am Hudson. I like people. I’d much prefer to be alone with my person, my people. No dogs, no other cats. After all, if you want a small cat because your place is small and because you drive a Smart Car or a baby Fiat, you’ve only got space for one small cat – and she should be Me! Me! Hudson – the best in petite tabbiness. And only $120 for my room and board at Feline Rescue. Ready to cuddle, I am!”
