The “It” Cat Needs a New Home
I call Schnoogley the “it” cat because he has “it”— everything that one might like in a cat. He is cute, smart, affectionate, trusting, curious, playful, and athletic. He’ll fetch a little foam ball a few times, then curl up next to you, purr loudly, and knead the air. I’ve known him since he was young (so about fourteen years) and have always been fond of him.
He needs a new home because his companion person is no longer able to care for him. He is living in Maplewood, Minnesota now and would like to stay in the area. He would visit Madison, WI to meet prospective companions. Schnoogley shared a home with another cat for most of his life. They got along quite well almost all the time. His friend died about a year ago. After that, Schnoogley became more talkative and even more interested in human companionship. He might do very well in a home with another cat if they are introduced to each other well. We do not know how he would do with dogs.
He has all his claws. He does not scratch furniture. (He kneads carpets when he’s happy. If his claws are long, they get caught in the carpet.) He accepts claw trimming well. We’ll gladly show people how to trim his claws. He will not go to a home where he would be de-clawed.
Schnoogley is healthy, just a bit over-weight. He has been neutered. He has never sprayed. He had his teeth cleaned early this year, so will probably not need another cleaning. He has had all his shots and regular veterinarian visits throughout his life. He has a micro-chip. He has been an “indoor cat” since being found as a young stray about fourteen years ago.
He’s always a perfect gentleman about his litter-box habits. He eats a high-quality, canned food diet. We will provide two-months’ worth of food to his new home, along with his food dishes, his scratching post, two Turbo Scratcher toys, and other small toys.
If you may have or may know of a good home for Schnoogley, please contact Rick at 608-251-8419 or rick@onesharedplanet.org (Madison) or Geneviève at 651 644-3890 or marauge@goldengate.net (Twin Cities).
NOTE: In the interest of serving as many cats as possible, Feline Rescue occasionally promotes cats being taken care of by our friends and supporters. The cat(s) in this posting are NOT Feline Rescue cats and any adoption that may occur is an arrangement strictly between two independent parties.
