Recognize the words? From my biggest hit, my famous song, “I Try”. I am here, and you are here, and we should be together. What else do we need to know? Surely you see that I’m very young and still quite small and got my name because I’m Gray – and I sing. I sing softly – a bluesy voice with a touch of gravel – but I’m not blue, not me – never, never. I have all the curiosity a cat should have, and I intend to use it to explore my new home with you. Curious cats are never blue – never, never. Fate really has brought us here – now – at this time.

“I may appear to be free, But I'm just a prisoner of your love.” I need to sit on your shoulder and survey the territory, purr in your ear a bit – if you don’t mind. Love draws me in to explore you and study you. I am so nice; I just am. That Russian fellow up the hall – he says he’s fluffy, but I am fluffier. So there. No, I’m not being spiteful just because he ignores me – but he does. I’m so truly not interested....But, please, don’t you ignore me – notice that I’m immensely fluffy – Gray and a bit of white – and fluffy and never blue.

Do you cuddle? I cuddle. And I play with stuff. Do you have stuff for me to play with? No, not that silly Russian’s tail; I am so truly not interested. Bring me a feather toy; I’ll sail after it and....chomp! A little lady kittenheart, looking for a home, needing love, needing a trueheart – little Macy Gray. I can sing the blues, “Though I try to hide it it's clear, My world crumbles when you are not near...” but I’d rather not. I’d rather sit in your lap and purr with my very soul – that would be heaven – and I’d never be blue. $100 takes me where I belong – together with you – also a very nice copy of my latest CD.
