We would like to place these two kitties together in a forever home, as they have a special bond. Both guys arrived in fosterage at about the same time in November 2016; The grey cat is a young adult (estimated age about 2), a stray who turned up at a local willow plantation. This super-mellow tomcat (now neutered) impressed us with his very calm, laid-back demeanor. When he arrived, the cat was riding shotgun in his rescuer's big delivery van. This kitty's remarkable chill earned him the nickname, "The Dude."
Oreo
, his companion, came in a couple days later, found unconscious and half-frozen in a neighbor's garden. Initially kept isolated from the Dude, the two cats clearly showed an interest in each other, and once introduced, quickly became inseparable. They play, eat and sleep together. For some time, we'd been noticing odd wet patches of fur on the Dude's forepaws, and recently realized that the older cat lets the kitten suck on his paws when they are sleeping. It's an interesting behavior we haven't seen before; but clearly
Oreo
views the Dude as his 'mom,' and the Dude seems happy with this role.
Both cats are vaccinated, litter box trained, and well-socialized.
Oreo
is scheduled for neutering on 1/23, and both cats will be available after 1/25. Please contact Andrea at Feral Friends of Lake Pepin for additional information or to schedule a visit:
