You've heard shaggy dog stories, right? Well, this is a Shaggy Cat Story! I am the Shaggy Cat. Or I was - until some startled person said, "Good grief! What is that!!" It was me. I was traveling down the street, hoping for a meal or a home or both, but I'd been on my own a while - and I looked a bit like a tumbling black bear - but more like an escaped - and walking - old bathroom rug! Yow!
No more! I got me a lion cut. I am now very special, very clean, immensely sweet and friendly - and downright cute. You'll know me when you see me - I now look like a cross between "The Cat in the Hat" and a Scottish Terrier. I'm just so cute. I'm growing my long black hair back to beautiful, but I'll still be cute - just dang near as large as a bear. I'm thinking you're the kind of person who has always wanted a House Bear. Not a little teddy bear - but a solid, purring guy Cat Bear. Would you like to scratch my chin? I would like you to scratch my chin. Ahh....so nice - now that I've been seriously groomed - I found out I have a chin - and it needs your affectionate attention.
This Shaggy Cat's Story is going to really begin when you stop over here and adopt me. I prefer cat food to honey and huckleberries; that's how you'll know I'm not really a bear. And I've got one more surprise for you - eyes! Exotic Australian opal eyes! All colors, spangly and sparkly. My eyes - you've got to see them to believe them. I guess no one noticed them under all that bear fur. I'm cute. I'm cool. I'm big. I love people. I'm looking for a mellow home with a couple of people, maybe semi-retired folks, who have enough couch potato- ness to curl up with a good cat, to let the good cat - me - sit in your lap while we watch, say, "Antiques Roadshow". You'll hear lots of purring, lots of happy purring. You need a House Bear. Just bring $100 - and let's go.
PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
