I am Kashmir, pronounced "cashmere", because I have the very softest, cuddliest kitty fur that any cat anywhere has ever had. This is true. I've asked around, and I've heard that there are other ladies here who are almost as soft as I - angora soft, perhaps, but not cashmere soft.
My story is sad. I'm only about three years old. When I was really still a kitten, I found my way to a warm garage and adopted a kind, gracious woman who cheerfully took me in, loved me, and fed me good stuff - really good stuff. Quite suddenly she crossed the Rainbow Bridge and told me to come here to find a new forever home. So here I am - still grieving but knowing that, sometimes, life goes this way.
I love people, also most other cats and civilized dogs. I'm easily contented and always ready to curl up with a warm human for a good nap. If Mary Margaret here, across the way, says she's rather like Sneaky Pie Brown's Mrs. Murphy, then I suppose I am rather like Pewter of the same feline mysteries. I do seem to be a bit pudgy - and part of me is pewter colored. But, mostly, I like food. I just like it. Not neurotic, not fat, none of those things; good food just tastes, well, good. I hear that there's a human here sometimes who brings cats fresh chicken and turkey. I am so ready to meet her - oh, yes, I am.
Also very ready to meet you, especially since you're the person who has my new forever home and wants to cuddle me and pet me and listen to me trill softly when I'm happy - which is pretty much all the time - except when I'm sad.
If you came with toys I could bat around, I'd be able to recognize you. (Hint....) And if you came with $100 to balance the Feline Rescue cat food budget....I'm a great cat - and a great friend. And I am the softest, most cuddly creature on the whole planet. Believe it!
PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
