Larry spent some time hanging out in an alley with his brother, Richard. They were filthy from the dirt and grime on their scraggly coats. Luckily a nice person stopped backing out of their driveway in time to rescue these poor little brothers and bring them to Feline Rescue.
They got a good cleaning at the vet and have now spent a few weeks at their foster home getting healthy. Their coats are still a bit scraggly as a reminder as their rough start in life, but they should come in thicker and softer as they continue to chomp on good food.
Larry is slightly more shy than his brother, but it takes him less than a minute to warm up to visitors. Before long he's purring in their arms and nuzzling their ears. His beautiful white-and-tan coloring and sad, sad eyes make it very difficult not to fall in love with him at first sight. He's still a little wary of the resident cats of the house (but you would be too after being hissed at and growled at from under the door), but he no longer does the scaredy-cat pose, with his tail pointed straight in the air and tripled in girth and the hair on his arched back sticking up in a mohawk. He's graduated from fearful to cautious in just a few short days, and he'll likely be just as playful with the resident cats as Richard is once he's had more time to adjust.
Larry loves his brother and wants to stay best friends with him forever, so these two should be adopted as a pair. They haven't had a lot of interaction with other animals (none with dogs), but they're definitely on their way toward peaceful and playful interaction with the resident cats.
