“Shalom, people!” I’d like to tell the story that I came here to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, but the truth is: 1) I arrived quite a bit earlier because I’d hurt my leg and needed to heal; 2) I discovered pretty quickly that I’m at an adoption center for cats, not a synagogue. Oh, well, I do need to be adopted, so…how about it? As you’ll quickly discover, I am just a sweet guy – a little tabby, a little white. I’m kind and gentle, and I love people. I’m just old enough to know better – and just young enough to enjoy people and kitty toys. Bring me something? A surprise?
Actually, I named myself Israel to let you know that I’m an old soul and that I was wandering in the desert – with no claws on any feet – for what seemed like 40 years. I don’t remember how I got there – and I’ve since found out it wasn’t really the desert, just Minneapolis, but it felt desert lonely – and I intend not to ever be that lonely and lost again. I intend to be cuddled and loved and warm. So, are you a cuddling, loving, warm person? Then you are my person, my people! My leg is all healed, and I want to go home.
Home is where my people are. Home is where I’m safe, even without any claws for self-protection. Home is where I’m hugged and ooohed and ahhed and just all over loved. Home is where I can walk around and follow people and sit in their laps – and, every now and then, sing with guy cat joy. I sing praises; I sing love. I love people – that’s it. Be mine – for just $100 you can be my people – and Israel will joyfully be yours – and – he will purr!
PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
