I'd like to tell you that I was found sitting in the lap of the F. Scott Fitzgerald statue over on Dale Street, just north of Summit Avenue. But that would be a lie. I was rescued on the east side of Saint Paul, and I really don't have any connections to F. Scott and his Zelda except the name. I also like people a whole lot better than Zelda Fitzgerald evidently did. And no one has been inspired by me to write tragic novels. Nothing tragic about me - I'm small, cute, very black, with a cheerful disposition - so long as some other Cat isn't looking at me. Someone needs to tell those Cats that staring isn't nice!

I very much like to talk to people, tell stories, chew toys, follow people around, just hang out and be cute. I'm young enough to get silly now and then - and old enough to know when I shouldn't. If you'll just walk on up and talk to me, I'll talk back to you. Whisper secrets to me if you'd like. See? I'll stand up on your shoulder, stretch myself out, and explore the room. Anything good out there? Uh, oh - a dang Cat - a staring Cat. So impolite. I need a home of my own with my people. I'll purr for you and follow you - but I won't try to trip you. Of course not - you know where my food comes from!

I suppose, maybe, someone named me Zelda because I do have a bit of flapper style about me. Those long strands of bright-colored beads? I could bat them around - fun! I once also did the Charleston in the litter box - but it seems I caused a sand storm. So I promise not to do it any more - but you could play some dance music for me when we get home. We are going home together, aren't we? I just love people, especially my people with the $100 to pay my bills here at Feline Rescue. I'm going to be happy with you. I'm Zelda - small, cute, black, cheerful. I'm yours!

PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
