Maybe I'm named after the famous short story author, or maybe I'm named after the famous candy bar. It makes no difference to me. I don't read and I don't eat candy.

I do eat cat food. In fact, for awhile I was spending a little too much time with my face in the cat food bowl. One day, I'm a strapping young lad. Next thing I know, I look in the mirror and see that I've become a little soft and round. Ok, very round. And not very little.

So I went to live in a foster home with my personal trainer. Here I was introduced to exercise and healthy new foods. The pounds are coming off and I feel great! I can run and jump and play again!

Now that I'm more agile, my favorite toy is the cat dancer. And my little toy mice are never in the same place in the morning as they were at night.

I'm quite handsome, if I do say so myself. I'm mostly white with patches of tabby and carry the timeless solid face of a marble lion guarding the steps of a museum or castle.

Sometime before my arrival at Feline Rescue, I was exposed to the FIV virus. But don't let those letters scare you. With good clean living, cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives—just like any other cat. I'm still a young guy and plan to enjoy many more years of tummy rubs, soaking up the sun, and chasing down toy mice.

I'm not really a lap cat but I am a very sweet guy. I crave attention and follow my caregivers around like a dog. I'm so easy to please. I can think of nothing better than when my foster mom sits down at the computer so that I can just sit next to her and purr.

While I love people, I sure don't like other cats. That's why I need to find a home where I'm the only cat.

My foster home is alright, and the shelter's ok, too. But I dream of the day that I'll have a home of my own, where I'll have the run of the place and not have to share my people with any other cats. I will be so happy. I'm ready for that day now!

My adoption fee is $100.
