Yes, it's true - I was out chasing grasshoppers - big ones, little ones, green ones, yellow ones - and I was so fascinated that I got myself totally lost - and ended up homeless and scared and cold. And if I hadn't eaten some of those grasshoppers, I might even have starved. But, as you can see by my round tortiness, I didn't. And I didn't because a super kind lady, at whom I was really irate at first, scooted me into a cat carrier. She brought me to Feline Rescue - and I discovered that, indeed, there is much better food for young cat women than grasshoppers. Much tastier stuff even than sparrows. Wonderful!
After all that action, I am, at heart, a quiet woman. I hear a lot of singing and jabbering around me, but I'd rather think than carry on. I'm certainly no longer irate; I've got a much better deal here than I had in the awful nowhere. Now, I'm quite proud of my tortiness, especially proud of my round speckled face. I use it to look at you - and to think - it would be so good if you would take me to your place - forever and ever. Please make sure I have a warm bed and my own blankie where I can curl up and feel safe. After all that loneliness, I need my own safe, warm, cat-sized space.
Yes, please pet me. Feel my super soft fur - much softer than a floppy-eared bunny - and I won't eat your carrots, and I will use a litter box. I can tell - because I am still water that runs deep - that you need Calpurnia Tate - named for a girl who studied grasshoppers - in your life. Me - I am the Cat that you need.
If you like, we can study insects and read Charles Darwin. If you'd rather bake cookies and read romances, we can do that, too. Whichever pleases you, you need Calpurnia Tate - Callie Vee for short - to help you. Chase on in to Feline Rescue, bring $100 for all the good service, and I'll join you on your journey to a fine future. It's true.
PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
