I am a Very Special Cat! A Special Cat - no doubt. You ask, "What makes you so special, young lady?" Please, just sit down here beside me. Be still. Look into my eyes, just as I am looking into yours. Breathe. You feel it, don't you? You simply know that you are in the presence of Specialness, that it is beginning to surround you, enfold you, and take you in. I am, first, Special, and, second, Alvie. Just Alvie. Notice my round, well-defined face. My lines are sharp; my contrasts good. I am pleasing to see.

 

Something else Special - notice my Ears. Ordinary Cats do not have Ear Tufts like mine. Only Special Cats have such Tufts. I've looked in a mirror, and I've seen my Tufts - also my delicate Ears, rather like perfect clam shells. Are you intrigued? I am so intriguing that I intrigue myself. Know what? It's fun to be intrigued.

 

Special Cat Alvie says more. She says, "Watch me roll over and look at you with infinite charm." She asks, "Will you softly scratch my Special Tabby head? Will you softly say I love you, Special Cat?" I had a Special Person who loved me. I know she still does. But she said, "Special Alvie, I've gotten old and tired, and I simply can't take care of you any more. I need someone to take care of me now. Please go and find another Special Person. I know you will."

 

Are you my new Special Person? I think I might like to come out and play with you. I admit I'm a bit spoiled - not used to sharing my space with all this action around here. But I'm kind and pretty and as loving as a Cat can be - even an Ordinary Cat. But I am Special - feel it, know it, and offer these temporary caregivers $100 just because they've kept me warm and fed me good food and told me - over and over - that they know I am Special. So do you.
