People tell me that my face gives them the same sense of peace, serenity, and wholeness that they feel in a sacred grove or ancient temple or cathedral. Yet I am humble and kind and less than a year old. But my face is round, and my tortie pattern is quite symmetrical. I am calm. And I am peaceful. And I purr with a rhythm rather like gentle lake waves in the morning. People tell me that just touching my soft fur brings them in tune with the entire universe.
I think these people are talking crazy stuff, but you never know what a young cat woman might be able to do. After all, you know what they say: "Once, cats were worshipped as goddesses. Cats have never forgotten this." It is true. I have not forgotten. But it is also true that I am humble and kind and very much wanting to join a human household and become Your Cat. I'd even rather prefer if you didn't worship me. Being a deity might be nice, but I understand that people don't cuddle and pet deities. And deities don't sit on people's laps - and I'd like to sit on your lap.

I am Tori - rather like Tortie - isn't that clever? I think so. I accept that I'm beautiful, that my black fur is so black it can't quite be seen by humans. We cats can see it, of course, but we see in the night. That's how we know we are cats! If you prefer cute to beautiful, then I offer cute. Take a look at these three pairs of white whiskers - more perfect symmetry to my tortie face. Do they look like this? >^..^< Never saw a walking, occasionally meowing, emoticon before, did you? Now that's cute!

So here's my simple plea: take me home with you. I know I once had a home, but it got lost. I'm a smart girl. I joined a feral colony because the gang knew where food was - and where people were who would protect us. I am so thankful that one of those people said, "Young lady, you're no more a feral cat than I am. Let's see if we can't find you a new home." So help us out: offer me a new home. I will offer you tranquil wholeness and soft in tune fur and love and my whole self. Offer the kind people here $100, and we will be together forever and ever. Amen.

PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
