Good day, people. Have you come, I hope, to study the planets and stars with me? At first sight, I know I appear to be a rather ordinary black and white cat. But look closely at the black of my back and sides and head – yes, flecks of white – like stars and planets of night sky – because, you see, I carry map of the heavens with me so that I may study it whenever it needs to be studied. And there is much to learn!

We will need to study carefully and talk quietly because, you see, there are still humans who doubt me. Although it may seem otherwise, the Earth – the planet on which we sit – revolves around the Sun – not the other way around. And we will need to study indoors because I do not care to sit outside under the real night sky and freeze my furry toes and ears ever again. See? I lost a bit of ear doing that. And I also picked up the FIV from some uncouth feline who was more interested in howling at the moon – and me – than studying. That means I should not live with other cats who never encountered such a jerk.

I am a proud fellow, quite young for all I know and all I’ve seen. I know who I am – and who I am not. I am curious, would like to continue to inspect the universe from a warm cat cushion in front of a starlit window. I would like good and kind people who will pet me, talk to me, curl up next to me, and brush my map of the heavens so that it shines and sparkles. I am Galileo, and I know many things. I plan to learn more things and would like to share them with my kind good people. We could also share secrets and toys and tasty morsels of tuna. I am quiet and do not howl at the moon.

Does that sound good to you? It sounds like a good life to me, and I’ve got eight more I intend to live well – and live them with you. How about $100 tuition for your one-on-one astronomy lessons – from Galileo himself? How about a great Cat in your life? Me.

PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
