Ordinarily I’m not very outspoken, but after my Brother Rupert took ME to Show-and-Tell last week (I didn’t think that was very nice, either!!) and told those totally untrue stories, I thought I’d better speak up.
Rupert does stuff like that cuz he’s “so much bigger” than me. But I think all his long fur has gone to his head (right through his ears!), and he’s just “puffed up!!” My fur is short and neat, gray and black with a little bit of brown. And I have stripes and some spots and freckles!! Anyway, at Show-and-Tell, Rupert told everybody that our Mom Kat left me in the Wild Wood of the Big World, where I was adopted by a family of Rabbits! He said the Rabbits taught me bad habits, like being shy and quiet, and running away to hide when strangers come to visit.
No Such Thing, Rupert!! They were the friendliest Rabbits EVER! You’re just mad cuz I got to play in the Wild Wood of the Big World, and you didn’t!!!
Besides, I wasn’t with the Rabbits very long, and then Rupert and I came to Foster Mom’s house together (that’s when Rupert got his name, and I got mine, “Olivia,” isn’t that pretty??). It was a Big Change, and I’m a Small Kat and Sensitive too. So, OK, I’m a bit shy, but now I like it when Foster Mom rubs my back and my tail and my chin. It’s when she moves too fast or makes big noises that I get scared all over again.
Foster Mom is giving me Lessons on how to be a trusting little girl Kat, and I get “A’s” in all my classes! I get “A’s” in Recess too (even though Rupert likes to take away my toys). When that little Red Laser Light comes around, WATCH OUT! I can run really Fast and jump really High (thanks to the Rabbit family) and I almost caught that Light a couple of times right before it escaped out the Window!!!
Foster Mom says that Real Soon the Purrrfect Purrrson will find Rupert and Me, and will take us to our Forever Home, and will know to be Patient and give me my Lessons (until I’m as nosey and loud and obnoxious as my Brother -- HA!!). So I’m waiting, but I hope You Hurry before Rupert has Show-and-Tell again…..
