Domestic Short Hair - Black

Afton – as in Lord Afton, if you please. At least that’s what I’d like you to think, so that you’ll think of me as rather royal and regal – even if I am given to flinging fake mice into my water bowl. Well, it’s easier to eat them after they’ve drowned.

 

Oh, dear. I don’t think I’ve made a very good impression, have I? And I do really, really want to make a good impression because I want you to say, “Oh, my, he’s wonderful – and so smart – and so shiny, and I simply must take him home forever and ever.” Please, let me try this again.

 

I’m young, mostly black, but for a few hidden white spots. I’m soft and shiny, and I have an excellent large and regal head, just made for petting by people hands. See? Try it. Pet my head. Isn’t that just special? I think you want to do it again. Nice! Very nice! I purr. I talk. Oh, yes – I talk! What would you like to talk about?

 

That furry but fake mouse that’s lying in my water dish? Well, yes, I did put it in there. But I knew it was fake. Really. And I just wanted to see the water splash. Really. Could we talk instead about me? See? I roll over and say, “Hi, I’m Afton, and I’m pretty handsome.” I stretch my legs out, and I say, “Aren’t I just adorable? For a big fellow, I am so adorable.” Notice my alert, penetrating yellow cat eyes, too!

 

I’m an excellent young gentleman with a sense of humor and an instinct for play. I’m quite sweet, but I’m no pushover. I know what I want – you! People! Home! Toys! Splashy water! And I know what I don’t want – loud rumbly buses. It’s very hard to tell the difference between the sound of a bus and the sound of a T. Rex. I don’t want either in my life, OK? Just you – my people, my person, my home. So, how about it? Come see me and fall in love. Bring a small $100 for my hotel bill. You can even arrive by rumbly bus – so long as you arrive. I’m Afton. Please say I’m rather lordly; I’d like to be.
