Did you know that Zebedee - that's my name - means "the gift of God"? I think that makes me pretty special. I also found out that the original Zebedee, a couple of thousand years ago, was a fisherman - and I certainly would like to do some fishing. Tasty. I'm a young fellow. If you think my head seems just a wee bit too big for my body, it's because I'm still growing into it - my head, I mean. What's already in my head is a well-above-average amount of Cat Smart.
Let me tell you just how smart I am. First, I found myself homeless. Not sure how that happened, but there I was - no home, doing my best to survive. Then I hurt one of my legs - not sure how that happened, either. But I said, "Zebedee, fellow - you need help." I could have knocked on any door, walked up anywhere. But I didn't do that. I listened in the wind for help. Maybe it was God; maybe it was the collective feline mind. But I got the answer very clearly: "Go to that house over there. A Feline Rescue person lives there. She will help you." And she did. And I'm all fixed up and ready for my people - my Permanent People!
I am grey - grey as a cat can be. Might be some faint stripes somewhere, but mostly I am Pure Grey. I walk tall. Watch me pass, and you will say, "There goes an aristocrat. Look how dignified he is." And it's true - I am dignified. And I am strong - feel my muscles - I've been working out at NineLivesFitness. And I liketo get a ride on people shoulders. Carry me around and pet me - now you feel those muscles, don't you? Hear me purr. I am so happy now that I need to eat some crunchies.
Hug me. It was a scary trip there for a while. But I got the word. I have studied everything at Feline Rescue, I think. I am ready to study your place. I'll probably study you, too. I say I am a lover and a "gift of God". I say you need Zebedee in your life. If you agree - and how could you not - just stride on over to Feline Rescue with $100 in your pocket and say, "Hey, there, young grey fellow, let's go home!"
PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
