“Hello, chrrup, chrrup….I’m Sheila. I’m interesting, and I’m very friendly. Cherrip, chirrup….” Some people say I am a princess because, if I do say so myself, I am quite beautiful, and I walk tall and royal.
I’m not just beautiful; I am interesting beautiful. Most of me is quite white, and I do spend time keeping the white me very white. But what’s not white is my spectacular dark charcoal tail. It’s long. It’s silky. I am very proud of it, and I carry it like my own personal flag. What’s also not white is the top of my head. Part of it matches my tail, of course, but look closely – right by my ears I am chestnut brown. I say I am a designer’s masterpiece. “Thank you. Yes, I am lovely, especially my tail.”
Did I mention that I’m friendly? See me reach my long legs and paws out to you? Yes, please do pet me. Also, please do pick me up and carry me. Yes, I quite like this; I nudge you with my head. Hear the soft chrrup? See my kind kitty girl eyes? “What? I weigh more than I look like I do? That had better be a compliment. I am sleek and solid! And proud of that, too.”
I’m also proud that I’m a girl and not some old tom cat. You know the old song, “I enjoy being a girl…” Well, I do. If I were a person, and if I didn’t have such a special design on my head, I’d wear one of those late 1940s hats – a pink one, I think, with yellow flowers, a big black bow and a little veil. I like flowers – petunias particularly – purple petunias. Will I chew them? Probably.
My sister Jamie – she’s here, too. She doesn’t look a thing like me. She’s pretty much a tomboy. She won’t daintily chew the petunias. She’ll take the whole bouquet and shred it across the room – and have a good, good time. We’re very good for each other. We love each other a lot. We’ve always been together because we were born in a Feline Rescue foster home after our Mom became homeless. We had what we hoped was a forever home with good people, but they had to move – and we couldn’t go with. (That’s Minnesotan for “go with them”.)
Petunias and lace. Sheila and Jamie. Sheila’s special tail and Jamie’s creative mind. You and us. We go together like a horse and carriage. $100 for me but, please, try to find another $100 for Jamie. We all belong together forever. “Yes, my tail is exquisite….”
I currently live at the Adoption Center along with my sister Jamie. We'd welcome your visit. If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me/us, please call 651-642-5900 ext 3. Thanks!
