You just won’t know what furry love is all about until you meet me. You won’t know how wrong names and looks may be until you meet me. I am Tom-Tom. I am a singer and a poet and a boxer. I am a cat. I am all those things, but my true purpose is dispensing all the pure furry cat boy love I can to every person who needs some – or just wants some.
My poet self says, “No….I do not think I am ‘Tom, Tom, the baker’s son, Stole a wigg and away he run. The wigg was eat, and Tom was beat, And Tom went roaring down the street.’” I do seem to know the rhyme. And I vaguely know that a “wigg” is not what you think. I would never eat one of those – might make a toy out of it and throw it around, though. (Wheea!) No, a wigg was a sweet cake in olde England. Now had it been catnip….well….
My singer self says, “I’m gonna love you, Till the heavens stop the rain, I’m gonna love you, Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I….” Sure, I stole those words from Jim Morrison. But they’re true – love is all I do. Love is all I need. Just ‘cause I stole them doesn’t mean they’re a wigg, either! Tom Tom loves you. Tom Tom sees person legs, and he rubs and rubs and rubs and purrs and turns around and purrs and rubs again. Tom Tom is gonna love you. He is. It’s what he does. And then he flops himself down and purrs even more.
Here comes the boxer part – and I don’t mean one of those jowly dogs. Didn’t steal these words now – just borrowed them: “
In the clearing stands a boxer, And a fighter by his trade, And he carries the reminders, Of ev'ry glove that layed him down, Or cut him till he cried out, In his anger and his shame, ‘I am leaving, I am leaving,’ But the fighter still remains.” Thank you, Simon & Garfunkel, for these good words of me. Yes, I “carry the reminders” – but I am not angry or shamed. I am beautiful in heart and soul.
I am also charming and interesting – and much sweeter than any wigg ever was. Oooh! I am just purring at the thought of my People who are just about to find me and fall in love, in love, in love. Please – never judge a book by its cover nor a cat by his ears. You’ll miss so much in life. And you don’t want to miss a thing! So, People, roar on over to Feline Rescue. Meet me. Fall in love. Bring $100. Take me home. One suggestion: don’t wear black, fur-attracting pants; I’m waiting to love your legs! One more: don’t miss my tabby tail – it’s outstanding!
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
