A person! A person! How happy I am to see a person! I’ve been sitting here just waiting patiently and quietly for a good, cat-loving person who appreciates good cat love. I had at least one person, maybe more. But something happened, and I found myself here seeking my real soulmates. May I wash your paws? Rub my chin on them? Purr for you? I am as lovey as lovey can be, and I say we belong together.

 

Do you sing? I’m an excellent and experienced back-up singer. I’ve never been the star, but I’ve sung back-up for Norah Jones and Chaka Khan. “Awoom, awooom, ooom, ooom…” Back-up singing, see? Jazz, pop, a little old-fashioned doo-wop – what do you think? The guys behind that door over there sing all the time. I think they might have formed a barbershop quartet. You don’t sing? I guess, then, Shakka will just have to do it for you.

 

Let’s go back to the lovey part. Please notice my very alert, rather distinguished, sleek and very black face. Allow me to stretch out and roll toward you so you can really see my great face. Smooth. Black. All black. Almost all black over over except for 14 white hairs on my chest. I counted them. Every now and then I lose one – down to 13 – but it comes back.

 

Shakka wants to take care of you, love you, sing for you, wash your paws and give you tiny little cat love bites. I am noble. I can purr forever and probably will. I purr when I walk and purr when I talk. I eat quickly so I can go back to purring. Now, how could you not want this noble, loving, lovey, purring black back-up singer in your life? You do want me? Wow – bring $100 over here, give me that pen thing for a toy, and we are off to make beautiful music. Shakka and you. You and Shakka!
