I’m a lady. I’d like to be ferocious, but the fact is I’m not. I’m a young tortie lady, and I like people. “Would you excuse me for a moment? I need to hiss at my litter box. Hissss! Aaaahss! Much better – it has been hissed.”
Let’s discuss my exquisite design. Would you like to? Notice that I have tan feet on two corners – and black feet on the other two – one of each in front and one of each in back – and on opposite sides of me. I say this design is charming; I hope you agree. Someone told me that my clear straight tan stripe, right down the center of my nose, gives me a resemblance to the man in the moon. Well, that’s fine – but, excuse me again – shouldn’t that be lady in the moon?
“Pardon me one more time; the rear corner of this cardboard box needs hissing. Aaaahss! Hisss! Took care of that problem, didn’t I?”
No, I’d never hiss you. You’re people – maybe even my forever people – and I like people. People do not need hissing. As for various boxes, walls, corners and unseen cats, they likely need a little hiss. But you, good humans, please pet me, talk to me, listen to me purr, watch me reach out to you. People rescued me when I was young, pregnant, and hungry. People are good. Sometimes, I think about sitting in a person’s lap; I hear that’s a good thing to do.
“Just one more time. Sssssa! Hissss…. I heard something back there – thought it should probably get a hiss. I admit it – I’ve been trying to raise up my inner sabre tooth tiger, but it’s just not happening. Sigh.”
I’m a lady – a demure, almost delicate house lady. I belong with lace curtains and needlepoint and antimacassars. I belong curled into feline yoga postures on a high-backed chair where my people can study the many colors and patterns of my tortie coat. Would you like to do that? I would like for you to study and pet me and bring me treats and toys. I shall purr every day and practice my hissing only on the 4th day of every month. How about that? $120 and Tisha goes home with you forever – with just one last hiss at this kennel – which deserves it!
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
