“Good morning, people, friends, fellow soccer stars! I am Otto from Sweden, and when I’m not playing soccer, I play the guitar and sing. If I had a guitar, of course, which I don’t, but you’ll be bringing me one, won’t you? Yes, I’m black and white – or white and black, if you prefer – but I am not wearing a tuxedo. This is my soccer shirt, see? Take note of the little black logo on the end of my nose. Swedish!”
“I am lively. I am charming. My foster mom called me a scamp! What did I do? I chewed holes in chip bags, for one thing. There were chips in them! Tasty chips. But the truth is I like the sound of the bag when I bite it. “Crunk! Click! Crackle!” Sounds like crickets under the sink. My foster mom also said that I’m alert, inquisitive and happy. Yep – she figured me out perfectly. I’m impressed. Must mean I am ready to team up with my forever people, people who are as clever and crafty as I.”
“You think my odd little ears are cute? Well, it wasn’t so cute when it happened. I got frostbit! Bit by the frost – right on my once-perfect cat ears and feet. It’s cold in Minnesota – I mean Sweden. I was out there practicing my soccer moves. Along came a hockey team and chased me. I got lost. It got cold. My foster mom and her friends brought me back to spunky, sassy life, and I am now here looking for You!”
“Let’s see if I can charm you into getting me out of this lock-up. Lock-up? Well, yes, we soccer stars sometimes get carried away with ourselves – got myself jailed. But you’re going to carry me out of here and carry me around and take me over there to see those cute, cute, girl cats, aren’t you? Yes, I’ve “been to the vet”, but it doesn’t mean I can’t still look – and flirt a bit. We soccer stars do that.”
“Did you bring the guitar? Shall I sing for you? Can’t chase a soccer ball all the time. What do I sing? Well, you already know I’m a little different. I especially like to do the old Civil War (or, as you may say, War Between the States) songs like ‘When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again’ and ‘Lorena’ and ‘Was My Brother in the Battle?’ I can pretty much guarantee that I am the only soccer-playing, guitar-playing cat anywhere who sings these songs! So….”
Now’s your chance – your only chance – to adopt Me – Otto, the Swedish soccer star with small ears and a logo on his nose and many songs in his heart. Bring $100 and sign me up! We’re going to have fun!
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
