“Welcome, welcome, I am Maestro, and I am a lover, not a fighter.” I am peaceful as peaceful can be and friendly as friendly can be – with people. And – I am a Big Dude. Not just big – Big. Somebody said that I weigh more than a large economy-size bag of kitty litter. This could be true. Pick me up, cuddle me, feel me purr – see what you think. Heavier than a bag of litter?

 

If so, what you’ve got is a lot of cat to love – and a lot of cat to love you back with a lot of cat love. Let me show you all my different kinds of cat love. I sit on you – a Lap Dude! I nuzzle up and purr – a Love Dude. I wash your face – a Kissing Dude. I wash your hand – an Elegant Gentleman Dude.

 

More, more! Watch this. I roll over. I am upside down. An Upside Down Dude with a black spot on his nose, giving you the most winsome big cat eyes you’ve ever seen. Oh yes, I’m a lover, not a fighter. Never a fighter. I don’t have time to fight. I am too busy loving people. Hear that purring? I am so busy purring that I almost don’t have time to tell my story. I am a Happy, Happy Cat. Let’s get together and play. How about it?

 

“I heard that! Someone suggested that, perhaps, I am a cow – a Holstein cow – just because I’m black and white – and Big. Now, listen, I know I’m a big fellow, and I’m proud to be me. But I am not now, nor will I ever be, a cow. Nor a bull.” Hear this: “Mrroww! Mrroww! Prrrrr….” Does that sound like “Moooo…” to you? It does not.

 

Come on over here and let me love on you. Love on me, too, please! I adore attention, and I adore giving attention to my people. To be truthful, I prefer people who are old enough to appreciate my attention – and who know that good cat attention is gentle rubbing of ears. Bad attention is pulling of tail. Do not do that! Did I mention that I adore attention? This also means that I don’t particularly care to share your attention with, ahem, other cats….

 

I can lead an orchestra. I can lead a band. I am more “The Music Man” than a rock star. I can love my people. Come on over here and be my people. You’ll be as happy as I am.
