I’m a little tabby, short and round. This is my sweet face and that is my tail. Speechifying Thumper makes enough noise for two cats, so all you’ll hear from me is a little tabby squeak. “Mew? Mee?” That’s about it, and, yes, I’m rather tentative.
I am just not sure of much at all since I got lost and ended up here. I’m sweet and short and round, and it’s lovely that you pet me, lightly scratch my back, and tell me that everything’s going to be OK. I want to believe that, but some part of me feels heartbroken, and I’m not sure why. I’m pretty sure I need people who belong to me. I must have had some once, but I don’t remember that much.
I do remember that I was going to an ice cream social at a rather scruffy church. Methodist, I think. Methodists do ice cream; I thought I’d like to be one. Strawberry is my favorite flavor. But I got lost. I’ve got a great sense of smell; all we cat girls do. But I have no sense of direction. Tell me up, and I’ll go down. Tell me right; I’ll go left. And I just plain don’t believe in GPS. Anybody old-fashioned enough to do ice cream socials at a church is much too old-fashioned to do GPS. Of course, I did get lost, didn’t I?
So here’s my important short, round, and not at all tentative question: do you have a place in your heart and your home for a sweet old-fashioned girly girl with the dearest little tabby face you’ve ever seen? Do you have some ice cream? Strawberry, maybe? Tuna? Sardine? Do you have a lap that I might sit in? “Mew? Mee? Do that back scratching one more time?” I’m just a little tabby, short and round. See my sweet face and my fine tail. Find $100 in your pocket and take me home. Mend my heart; I need my people, not a GPS. “Mew?
