Tiny paws move without sound across the floor. Small cat shows only eyes – deep yellow eyes of mystery. It is true what they say: “Still waters run deep.” I am still, but I am deep. Deep and beautiful. Come – feel this velvet cloak. Royal cloaks from ermine are not so fine as Baborak’s pure black velvet – and it is mine, all mine.

 

Imagine my velvet cloak as the vest and skirt of a lively Bohemian dancer. There’s a reason for my name. Baborak – a lively Bohemian dance. “Cat girl,” you say, “First, you tell me you are still and deep, then you tell me you are a lively dancer. What is the story, dear cat girl?”

 

The story is that I am both. I am a lady, still, shining, and deep. And I am a dancer. Bring me bright ribbons – purple and red and teal and yellow and magenta. Tie them with gold bangles that ring and jingle. Bring me a lavender velvet mouse. Then, watch Baborak come alive. Perhaps I shall play a tambourine, if you have one.

 

I say I am young and beautiful. I say I am soft. I purr with softness when you touch my velvet skirt. I say that I want to love someone, look into deep human eyes, and enjoy the life I was meant to have. Baborak wants to feel safe and warm. I say that, wherever I was before now, I became a bit nervous. I felt in the deep part of me that danger was lurking. Perhaps it was not true. But perhaps it was. No more, I say. I want to feel loved in the deep part of me. I want to love people. Most of all, I want to dance.

 

No more on the road. This small beauty sees herself in a parlor, gracing a chair the color of eggplant, creating a picture with my bright ribbons, my bangles, and my lavender velvet mouse. Can you see me? Can you see me in your home? Can you see you petting my velvet cloak and singing softly, “Baborak, Baborak, beautiful dreamer, beautiful dancer…”?

 

Look slowly into my deep and mysterious yellow eyes. Feel my soul. Feel my beauty. I am ready to go with you, for now, for always, and show you how a young lady dances and comes alive. “Dear cat girl, we shall do this. I give Feline Rescue $100 for giving you a little room where I could find you. I have found you. Dear cat girl, yes, you are beautiful.”
