Went Looking for Love in All The Wrong Places

Indeed I have named myself for the early Renaissance poet Dante Aligheri. Why? Because I am exotic, mysterious, and poetic. I am not of Ordinary Cat Design. I have rag doll cat markings, but I absolutely do not fall over and flop. Nay! I patrol – strong and upright always. Why? Because I am a strong and upright fellow – what did you think?

I am not nearly so ancient as my namesake. In fact, I’m not much more than 2 – 3 years old. But I say I am as wise and insightful as he was. I had people in my life once upon a time. They must have loved me because I certainly miss being loved. But I ended up outdoors and, without my front claws, it was not a happy end. Not as bad as the Inferno through which my mentor descended – but it could have been. 

So I am looking to be loved and loved and loved again. I am exploring everything I see. I met a bloodhound while I was wandering. He told me, “Use your nose to find what you are looking for.” I do that. I think it is working. But I still have not found my true forever love. “Are you Beatrice? Do you know where Beatrice is? Perhaps she is in this basket? Nope – that’s Velvet – and she puts claw holes in guys’ noses. My Beatrice would never do that. Neither would you, I’m sure.”

With my talent for exploring and investigating and figuring it out and all, I suppose I could sign on with a group of private eyes or police detectives. But I don’t really want to work at this. I’d rather play at it. “I play when I want to play, don’t you know?” So how about you take my exotic, energetic, loving guy self to your place? For real. For Ever. You don’t need to be Beatrice. Just love me. I’ll talk and talk to you. I’ll write poems for you. I’ll sniff out trouble. I am strong and upright and definitely worth seeing. $100 brings us together For Ever. Hug me. Love me. I know you will!
