“Hello! Good afternoon! Seems to be a lot of people action around here today. People action is my work. I study people. I’ve got a Ph.D. in anthropology hiding right there under my blanket. Really. People action is much more interesting than cat action. We’ve got that around here all day long – big deal….”

“Oh, you want to know about me? Me? Maci? Well, so glad you asked. I like to talk about me – quietly, of course, because I am a dignified – and refined – woman. So….I am a solid round tabby with a striking round face. Notice the delicate beauty spots – two on each side of my nose. They are quite rare. My noisy neighbor – she’s sweet but sometimes loud – said those spots mean I am part butterfly! How about that?”

“And, you know? I looked at myself in the glass, and I think it just might be true – the delicate marks of a tiger swallowtail – what do you think? I mean, we know I’m only several cousins removed from being a tiger, after all.”

What else? Well, with a Ph.D., I guess I am a bit of an intellectual. But I’ll never sit around and deconstruct novels. I prefer physics, theories, models. Occasionally, if I am a bit bored, I will do some engineering, too. Mostly, though, I just like to study people. I like people. They pet me. They talk to me. They bring me food. Would you like to pet me, talk to me, bring me food? Invite me to sit on your lap?

I’m only about 5 years old, so I am in need of new people, a new home, and a fine life in which to continue my studies. I have work to do, and it’s just difficult to do here where there are more cats than people.

“Say, I just realized something else. Not only do I have tiger butterfly signs on my face, I have tiger tiger legs. Look at these stripes.   Maci is about to be your personal tiger woman! Oh, and check out my fine, fine fur. My “case notes” say that I am short-haired. That is true – but feel how deep and thick my fur is. Exquisite, I say. Do hope that I’m a butterfly and not a caterpillar – because if I’m a caterpillar and I’m this woolly, it’s going to be a mean winter.

You’d better adopt me and take me home before that happens! Please bring $100, come right over to Feline Rescue, and pick me up. Maci – a butterfly with a Ph.D. Rare. Available.

PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
