“Wake up, Maggie, I think I got somethin’ to say to you, it’s late September and I really should be back in school….”

“I’m awake, I’m awake! And it’s not late September – at least I don’t think so….” I am Maggie Mae, and I’m awake. I’m also pretty young and pretty pretty, too. I’m hoping for people to come talk to me and play with me because I’m all alone. I want to fly around the room, please, find toys and people stuff to play with. Whee! Yes, I fly. Well, not through the air, just on my feet – but I’m working on the “through the air” thing.

I’m soft and tabby. I have all the curiosity a cat should have. I’m most friendly, and I know how to purr. And I’m awake! I started a new tradition here at Feline Rescue – the tradition of kneading one’s bed, scooting it across one’s little home, and, wow, watching it go right down through the hole to the floor below. The black woman in the next room – she watched me do it. Then she did it. Now everybody’s doing it. So, if you wonder why a lot of cats have their beds in their water bowls, why – it’s because we want Water Beds!

I must be truthful; we cats learn that from our moms. Be truthful. So, I was out and alone before I came here in hope of finding you. And while I was out there, somehow, I picked up the FeLV. Now, I’m really alone because I can’t live with or play with cats who don’t have it. We can wave to each other through the screen – but that’s all. So Maggie Mae is here hoping that you, you good people, have another cat with FeLV at your place – and that you’d take me with you to play with her – or him. Do you? Could you? Would you?

I’m lonely. I’m lovable. I’m smart. I’m cheerful and playful, and I invent games. I only talk when it’s important – when I have something to say to you. I have something to say now: “Please bring $100 and take me home. I’ll be an only cat if you’ll only play with me. Or I’ll be a pal and co-conspirator with your FeLV cat.” I’m Maggie Mae. I’m amusing. I’m awake!

PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
