“Are you looking at me? Little me? Little, quiet, keep-to-myself, soft, sweet me? Keep looking then, because I like people to see me – and I like to see people.”

I came here to find my permanent people. I was living at a foster home, but it worried me – how long will I be here? Where’s my forever place? What if someone puts me in a Carrier – and hauls me somewhere? So I just thought I’d come here, wait for you, get in a nasty old Carrier one more time, and go home with you – for good. What do you think? Like that idea, I hope?

Oreo is a lady. She is Oreo because she is black and white. She is fascinating because she carries a tiny white caret - ^ - on her little black nose. That’s a caret, not a carrot, nor a carat. It’s the thing on your keyboard that you use to make cat ears - >^..^<  Isn’t that fun? I have one on my nose. Yes, you may pet me. See how soft I am? See how well-mannered I am? Bring me some tuna, and see how thankful I am. Ladies always say, “Thank You!”

Tell you the truth. This lady – Miss Oreo – would like a gentle home that’s quieter than this place. There are cats jumping and running and even singing. Now, I’ll come running and roll over for petting if you call my name, but such carrying on as we have here isn’t my thing. I’m just not sure about it all. I’d be so happy in my own place with my own person or two.

In the meantime, I keep myself centered by purring, daintily eating a few crunchies, and letting myself be mesmerized by the motion of the mop. The human pushes; the mop moves. The human pushes again; the mop moves. When I study the mop, I do not hear the grey dude who like to jump on the roof. Goodness! How about you just take me with you, stroke my soft, very black fur, give me some tuna, let me watch you mop? Just $120 – and about $15.99 for a mop – takes Lady Oreo to her real home. Yes!

PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
