“Hello! I’m small, young, and strong. I doubt I’ll ever be any bigger than I am because I’ve already been a Mama, and I’ve been through more life than a young woman deserves. But, you know, they say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Here I am, and I’m pretty strong for a tiny girl.”
Mama Jo is pretty. A classic brown tabby woman with an intelligent and nice face. “Please notice my tufted little ears. Yes, lynx ears! They help me do fierce lynx looks – even when I’m not fierce at all. But when I was out there all alone, I needed to do the “Watch Out! Lynx Here!” act more than once. Some fly-by-night, leave-by-day guy cat left me with a family. I moved into a warehouse for some warmth and a corner for my kittens. Along comes this human, claims he owns the place, and tells another guy, “Get these cats out of here! Toss them in the river!”
I heard that. Can you imagine? Me and my little babies – and I even ate up a few of his mice! He should have been thankful. The other guy was much better. He took us to Feline Rescue. My foster family found homes for the kids. Now I’m looking for my home – far, far away from that guy, his dopey old warehouse, and the river!
Here, people say, “Mama Jo, you’re pretty. Mama Jo, we like you. Mama Jo, here’s some good, good food. Here’s a nice soft blankie.” Wow! What a new life. What an even better life when I come to your place and snuggle up next to you and climb your shoulder. I’ll say, “Thank you! Thank you!” And, then, I’ll purr.
I have to tell you, “I don’t like bears. I don’t know why. I’m not even sure I’ve ever met a bear. But I don’t like them. So it would just be good if there are not bears at your place. Other than bears, I’m easy.” Good people, good food, a blankie or two, and some toys. That will do it. Feline Rescue needs $100 from you, and I’ll be free to go. I’ll be cheerful, and you’ll have a tiny pseudo-lynx. What more could either of us want? Mama Jo wants you!
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
