Seeking Venture Capital

“Ah, Vincenzo, Vincenzo – didn’t we meet last year in old Napoli? You sang to me, ‘When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore….’, and I sang to you, ‘Hey, mambo! Mambo italiano!
Hey, mambo! Mambo italiano!’ Remember?”

“Oh. You weren’t even born a year ago? I could have sworn it was you. Perhaps, perhaps, it was Papa Italiano?”

Folks, it’s time Vincenzo told his own story in the hope of getting it fairly straight. I’m about 9 months old. Yes, my head is bigger than my body. I am growing my body into my head, which is why I am sampling every bowl of food in this room. I know that, if I eat it all now, the evening shift of servants to the feline nation will give us more. And then I can eat more. Urrá! Urrá!

More: I’m solid, shiny, soft and black. And – I have one white eyebrow, which is just about as cute as a bug’s ear. (If bugs had ears, do they?) I came here with my brothers, who have since found their home. We came here seeking venture capital because, you see, we have our own secret, patented recipe for pasta salsa felina – “Vincenzo’s Secret”. We Felinos like our salsa with tuna and sardines and mackerel – and an anchovy on top. None of that tomato and cheese stuff. You wouldn’t happen to be a venture capitalist, would you? Angel investor? Private equity fund?

I love people. People are so much fun to play with. Want to play with me? Come on, let’s play. Urrá! I fling my munchies bowl over your head! Urrá! Now, munchies everywhere! Vincenzo’s game! Human gets a broom – that’s the idea. Because what Vincenzo really wants is to chase the broom!

“Ah, Human, Human – we never met in old Napoli, but we are meeting here. If you’ve got just $100 in capital, you may give it to the Feline Rescue folks, and, then, we’ll go to your place and get started making “Vincenzo’s Secret” – as soon as we get ourselves a commercial kitchen. Urrá!
