Eat, Explore, Learn, Sleep

“Good day, fine people. I am Jacobi, renowned young grey tabby with striking crop circles on my sides, and respected 19^th century German mathematician. Yes, of course, I used my mathematical expertise to engineer my fine crop circles; that’s how it’s done.”

I am quiet – unless I don’t want to be – and dignified – unless I don’t want to be. I am, I assure you, an all-round good man and good cat. I quite like people. People scratch my chin. People lift me up high where I can see the world much better than I can from Cat Height – about one low foot. Not much. Of course, there is the Good Cat Jump – which I do well.

I am curious. Curiosity does not kill cats. Never. Curiosity leads us to great discoveries – like glittery green mice hiding behind boxes and moths on windowsills. “Come here, mothie, mothie. Jacobi wants to bat you around a bit….” I do like to explore and make discoveries. Have you got a whole new territory for me to explore? Would you like to take me there? Sure you would – I’m a good man.

I am mellow. Yes, I see some other cats walking around. That one thought about hissing me, I can tell. But I don’t hiss – unless somebody steps on my tail. You’re not a tailstepper, I hope! I don’t mind these fellows here; I just don’t think they’re as smart as me. If they were, they’d have sketched out some equations on the wall by now.

Do you like the way I look at you with big, alert eyes? Yes, I’m wearing quite a bit of white eyeliner – makes me look even smarter than I am, don’t you think? My former girl friend was a make-up artist. She practiced on me. But my crop circles are all mine. OK, you can carry me around for a while. But then I’m going to want to eat. I like to eat. Eat, Explore, Learn, Sleep. The four sacred Cat disciplines. Take me home to make new discoveries; please take me home to make new discoveries. $100 – not much for such a good man.
