Sweet, Smart, Young & Funny

“Halloo! Halloo! Do you see me? Do you hear me? Halloo!” I’m Tommy – nothing fancy or original – just Tommy. But wait until you see me! Wait until you meet me! I am young, and – although I’m a guy, I’m beautiful! I am. I’m grey, white, and tabby, and I’m a sweetheart. My former people said I was “the sweetest cat ever”. But they were like Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater – had a Cat and couldn’t keep him. Wisely, they brought me to Feline Rescue instead of putting me in a pumpkin shell. (Did you know that the inside of a pumpkin shell smells bad?)

But I digress. My purpose is simple. I intend to charm my way into your life, your heart, and your home. I talk to you. I purr to you. I roll over and look upside down at you. (Did you know you’re funny looking when you’re upside down? Oh, right, it’s me that’s upside down.) I kiss you. I wash you. Do I detect just a whiff of cat food on your hand? Oooh, I like you! I really am sweet. I make you laugh. You say, “Silly cat! Silly Tommy Cat!” I say, “I make you laugh. I am fun to be with. Are you fun to be with? Let’s do fun together!”

“Let’s do this! My favorite game! Listen! I make my water bowl sound like an old-time fire bell! Clang! Clang! No, not the trolley! The fire bell! Clang! Clang! Clang! Of course I spilled water. Get the horses! Get the wagon! We’ve got to put the fire out! Old Man Herman’s barn is on fire! Let’s go! I am the Fire Chief! Clang! Clang! Are we having fun yet?

I hope so because I want us to have fun together. I want to be your Cat. I’m young, and I’m sweet, and I’m funny. Pet me. Pet me!! Pet Me More! How about a bit of a belly rub for sweet, funny Tommy? You’re charmed, I can tell. I’m charming. I know. May I wash your paw – your hand – just once more before we go to your place? Don’t forget – please give these good people $100 for my room and board – and the water bill. Takes a lot of water to put out a fire in Herman’s barn. (I hear you ROFLing. I’m a funny cat!)
