I am a good cat. I am a nice cat. I don’t chew rugs or hiss and spit. I can purr, and I’d sit on a lap if I had a lap to sit on – but I don’t. I am Lefty, and I am sad.  I am sad because I’m all alone. Some humans just left me here. Left me. Lefty. Sad. Wouldn’t you be?

Why? Why? Lefty wants to know why. We cats are like that. It isn’t enough to just know something. We need to know why about that something. And, if we can’t know why, well, then, “Mrrrp! Mrrrp!” – which is Cat for, “Let’s move on and try again.” How about if Lefty tries with you? How about it? Come talk to me. Pet me gently, and you just might hear me purr. You might.

I am a good cat. I am a kind cat. I am a calm cat. I don’t zip through rooms and shriek at the drapes. I’ve been here a whole few weeks now, and I haven’t even kicked my munchie bowl over – not even once. I am just a good cat. A small Black Guy Cat. I am looking for a lap, a chair or two, a soft bed. I would like a cat bed just for me, but I would also like at least one people bed – one that sometimes has a people in it – so I could curl up and sleep with a people or two. I think you could be that kind of people, don’t you?

Is Lefty a pitcher? Is he really left-pawed? He doesn’t think so. Pitchers need to be accurate. Lefty would rather just give the ball a swat, with whatever paw might be near it, and watch where it goes. Anywhere, so long as it goes. I would not call myself a professional ball player, but, if you would happen to have a ball, I would be happy to see what I could do with it.

See? Happy! I say happy when I have attention from people. I would say very happy if you would say, “Good cat, nice cat, kind cat, how about being My Cat?” I would say Joyously Happy if you would say, “I have a lap, a chair or two, a soft cat bed, and a people bed, and I would like Lefty to share them all with me!” No more Sad. No more. Happy Lefty. It only takes $100 to take Lefty home and make him Happy.

PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
