“Well, finally! Here comes the human with the pen and paper. I’ve been waiting for weeks to tell you my story. I got humans with cameras and humans with food and humans with toys – but no one who wanted to sit down and listen to me. So – now that you’re here, please sit down and listen! O’Hara has his story.” This is it:

I’m a fine young fellow, about 7 – 8 months old, and I’m peachy. As in peachy keen – and the color of a peach – and – well, isn’t that just peachy! A bit of tabbiness but, mostly, I’m peachy. And just about as sweet as a real tree-ripened peach, too. I hear those are hard to come by around here.

I noticed my sign over there. It says I was a “stray cat”. Well, yes, I’m a cat. And proud to be one. But I wouldn’t say I was “stray”. I mean, if you saw a giraffe walking down the street all by himself, would you say, “Why, that’s a stray giraffe!”? Of course not. You’d say, “Where did that giraffe come from?” So, see me and ask, “Where did that cat come from?” I’m not about to tell you much more than I came from a Mom Cat and there was probably a Dad Cat around, too. But here I am, and I’m cute and I’m funny and I might be Irish – and what more could you possibly want?

I am looking for a fine home with fine people with whom I can grow up to be a fine, fine, full-sized peachy keen, possibly Irish Cat. I am given to rolling around with toys and, occasionally, kicking them. I am given to soft love bites on human paws so as to let you know that we’re friends and going to be best friends. Are you my people? Do you have toys? Do you have food? Those are my questions.

“OK, did you get my story down on paper? Got it all? Go tell the world that O’Hara is waiting peachily for his forever home and people. Please do that for me. Tell my people to bring $120 because I’ve been eating plenty of food around here. Now, please give me that pen. I like to sharpen pens with my teeth. Of course they need to be sharpened. O’Hara says so. Thank you for listening.”

If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my secretary at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back.
