Hello! I’m quiet, and I’m beautiful, and I’m only about one year old. I am as tabby as a tabby can be – and as brown tabby as a brown tabby can be. I am smart and grounded. I miss nothing important – and – I have a secret.
Want to hear about my secret? Of course you do – and anyhow, I want to tell. Watch this! I roll over – and – guess what? I have leopard spots! All over my belly. I’m a secret leopard. Do not doubt this. Watch me strreetchh myself out, long and low, and move silently and sleekly through the grass of the savanna (where do you suppose my name came from….) Watch me as I sit motionless, listening for the sounds of an unwary nyala or impala moving toward the water bowl. Do not doubt that I’m a leopard!
I admit I’m a bit small to fly through the air and snatch a nyala. But I do moths. I do moths very well. Next, I’m going to practice on that black-and-white dude who keeps waving his paws at me. I admit he’s handsome, but really – he’s bugging me. “Hey, fella, I’m a leopard! Back off! Be scared!”
I don’t think he believes me. What?? You don’t believe me, either? You think I’m a sweet, kind, purring house tabby? Just because I roll over and purr when you talk to me? Just because I like to be petted? Just because I’d have no idea what to do with a great big nyala if I caught one? OK, I’ll tell the truth.
I am Savanna. I have leopard spots, but I am not a leopard. I am a well-mannered young woman, and I am looking for my people. I am not looking for a nyala nor a black-and-white guy cat with a spot on his nose – no matter how much he is looking at me. I am looking for you, person, to take me home and admire me and pet me and feed me and tell people how beautiful I am. If you’ll just come over here to Feline Rescue and bring just $100, I can go home with you. Wouldn’t that be just sleek? (And, if you happen to have a nyala at your place, I promise – I won’t fly through the air and snatch it for lunch.)
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
