Fine Handsome Charming Gentleman

“Good day! Good day! Windsor, a fine gentleman, with a touch of British dignity, greets you, fine people! I’m told that I look more Siamese or Himalayan than British – but there’s a story here. Always a story. I had myself an excellent position with the Queen’s Guards at Buckingham Palace – thus, my British demeanor.

Alas, one day the Queen herself reviewed the Guard and said, “Soldier, what is that on your head in place of your bearskin?” “Why, Your Majesty, it is my bearskin.” “Soldier, I do not think so. It has a tail and pointed ears. I believe it is that cat who calls himself Windsor.” And out came the Queen’s Welsh Corgies. And Windsor ran – all the way across the pond to Feline Rescue. “I knew those Corgies couldn’t swim!”

So I am here – and just as glad that I no longer have to sit silently on that fellow’s head. I can explore, something I do well. I am alert and quite curious, as any true cat must be.  I walk with determined dignity, but I will gladly sit down and purr a bit for a person who wants to pet me. I am quite pettable. It makes me happy when people notice me and smooth my fine fur. Actually, I am not quite the right color for a Canadian brown bear skin. I am, if you’re discerning, rather lavender. Bears do not come in lavender.

Now, then, Windsor is, indeed, my name, but it appears I am no longer welcome at the House of Windsor. Missed the big wedding and everything. Ah, well, I’d much rather live at your House, anyway, so long as you are all sensible adult people. I just don’t care for those small people – the ones that run and squeal and take all the toys. Toys are for cats. Toys are for me. So I’d prefer some full-sized people who understand.

I’m handsome, I’m charming, and I love to play. I am Windsor and, yes, my lovely blue eyes are slightly crossed. They lend me even more charm. I am not an ordinary fellow, but you may invite me home for the ordinary price of just $100. I don’t intend to sit on your head. Your lap, maybe.
