I may be gorgeous but I'm no girly girl. I'm a strong, spirited gal who sometimes shows off a feisty side. But beneath my tough exterior is a gentle soul who enjoys a good pet and snuggle as much as the next cat.
So, if you stop by the shelter to visit me and you don't like what you see, that's ok. You just don't quite understand me. And believe me, I don't quite get you either.
But if you're truly a savvy cat–person (like I'm a savvy cat-cat), you will understand me, and we will click. You'll know what my problem is: I just don't like being around all these other C-A-T-S; it makes me nervous and I start behaving badly. On the other hand, find me in my own parlor (where I get an occasional respite to enjoy peace and quiet) I'm charming and sweet. I've learned to tolerate cats. What choice do I have? But I'd like to go home with you where I can really be myself. I'm a sweet girl, I really am. Just spend some time with me, one-on-one, and you'll see.
I long to be loved! Sit down beside me and I might just crawl up onto your legs or your lap for a nice, long cat nap.
While I don't play nice with other cats, I love to play with people. I like strings that wave and balls that bounce. I LOVE to play hide and seek and I go wild for a feather-on-a-wand toy. I spent plenty of time hunting down birds and things while I was a stray.
Now I'm ready for you to supply my food. I would love nothing more than to come live in your nice warm house, to sit in your sunny windows and watch the birds that I used to have to catch to survive. In a comfortable home, without the distraction of so many other cats around, I will blossom into your calm and loving feline friend.
I've bonded with humans before and I'm ready to do it again. Do we click? Are you feeling it too? I hope so. Because I so want to get out of here and far, far away from all these other C-A-T-S. I promise that when we get home, I won't hit or growl or act unpleasant. I'll just be sweet, lovely Tomasita — that's the real me!
PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
