About Al E. Cat | |

“Good morning! Good afternoon! Good evening! Good any time of day to stop right here and meet me – Al E. Cat! A fine cat. A good cat. Just waiting to discuss the issues of the day – and cat cuisine, if you wouldn’t mind. I am long, long, long – and leaner than I ought to be, but I have much faith that you will be adopting me and assuring that I am lean no more. And when I am no longer so lean, you will find yourself with a gorgeous, long, long, solid grey fellow who likes people who scratch his ears.”
“Did I mention that I am Al E. Cat? I vaguely remember a home where people scratched my ears. But it was a while ago. I’m not much more than 2 – 3 years old, but I took to hanging out with a clan of feral cats, both for protection and for food. They knew where to find it; I didn’t. It worked, but I don’t really belong in the Al-lees. I belong with you. I do. I do. I can purr. I do purr. I can sit in laps. I can explore kitchens and look up at you with my bright, bright eyes. And I’ll always say, ‘Thank you!’ when you feed me. Did I mention that I like being fed?”
Perhaps we could discuss the issues of the day – this very day, perhaps – and discover each other. You will see my great potential right away. You may think, “This fellow is straight out of T.S. Eliot – not a lead, I don’t think, but, perhaps, Tumblebrutus or Coricopat, maybe George.” Yes, you may think that because I am streetwise – had to be. But I’d much prefer to be “yourhousewise”. What you think? I think!
I’ve an excellent idea, a very excellent idea. Did you know that October 16 is National Feral Cat Day? If you’ll adopt me, we can celebrate my former clan – and all the other clans – together. We can share a can of tuna – then set out somewhere another can for cats not fortunate enough to share your home, as I am about to do. All it takes is one visit to Feline Rescue, one look into my bright, bright eyes, $100 to cover my room and board here – and a couple more dollars for that tuna! Good any time of day to adopt a cat! Good any time of day to adopt Al E. Cat! Me. Me.
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
